THE WALK AWAY MOVEMENT
Their Party Has No Future':
Former Democrat Urges Liberals to 'Walk Away' From Democratic Party
Fox
News Insider
The
creator of a social media campaign urging liberals to detach themselves from
the Democratic Party said that the future of the party is over.
Brandon
Straka started the "#WalkAway Campaign," which shares video stories
of people who decide to dissociate themselves from liberalism.
According
to the movement's Facebook page, it's meant to "encourage and support
those on the left to walk away from the divisive tenets."
Straka
appeared on The
Ingraham Angle Tuesday and said that negative rhetoric spoken by the left
and intolerance it has shown has been a big reason as to why he's walked away.
#WalkAway campaign explodes
– fed-up Dems leave party
Woke:
'Light bulb isn't even the word. It's like the sun came up'

Straka, “It’s “intolerant, inflexible, illogical, hateful, misguided,
ill-informed, un-American, hypocritical, menacing, callous, ignorant,
narrow-minded and at times blatantly fascistic,” says a new political activist
who has created a campaign online to oppose a party that he says he’s leaving.
He’s
leaving liberalism and the Democrats.
His
video is titled “#WalkAway Campaign – Why I left liberalism & the
Democratic Party” and is one of those must-see projects.
“It
is up to all of us to make our voices heard and reclaim the truth. The
Democratic Party has taken for granted that it owns racial, sexual, and
religious minorities in America. It has encouraged groupthink, hypocrisy,
division, stereotyping, resentment, and the acceptance of victimhood mentality.
And all the while, they have discouraged minorities from having independent
thought, open dialogue, measured and informed opinion, and a motivation to
succeed.”
Ex-liberal who started
#Walkaway campaign says ‘oppressive’ Left has drowned out ‘common sense’
From
RT
The
#Walkaway campaign has helped thousands of disillusioned Democrats regain their
own voices and push back against “oppression” and incivility from the Left, the
movement’s founder told RT in an interview.
The
#Walkaway hashtag went viral after New York-based stylist Brandon Straka, an
openly gay man, created a short video explaining why he felt alienated by the
Democratic Party and had to “walk away” – despite being a “lifelong liberal.”
Thousands of other wary Democrats have since joined Straka, posting videos
explaining why they too felt compelled to leave the party.
“I think the expectation for a lot of minority
groups is that we’re supposed to vote Democrat, and that we’re supposed to be
liberals. So I found myself sort of in that tribe on the Left most of my life,” Straka told RT. “What I wanted to do is get people back in
touch with their voices and push back against the narrative on the Left.”
Accusing
Democrats of cultivating a victim mentality among the party’s minority
supporters, Straka argues that its attempt to portray a person of color, a
woman, an LGTB person, a migrant as a “victim
of systemic oppression” is the party’s “greatest and most insidious lie” – which is needed so
minorities will see their saviors to be Democrats, who in fact do nothing to
improve their situations.
#WalkAway Movement to
Abandon Liberalism Goes Viral
Breitbart
The
#Walkaway movement that began with a popular Facebook video featuring a gay
hairdresser in New York City explaining why he was leaving the Democratic Party
has quickly morphed into a major force on social media and beyond.
According
to an article last Thursday in the Epoch Times, some five million people on Facebook and
YouTube have seen the groundbreaking video showing a “very handsome gay man”
who describes his awakening to the inanities of liberalism and the Democratic
Party.
Growing #Walkaway movement
may threaten Dems
From
The American Thinker by Thomas Lifson
Could
a gay hairdresser from New York City set off a mass exodus from the Democratic
Party? A hashtag and a growing wave (not a blue one) of videos on YouTube and
Facebook signal that the Democrats finally have gotten too crazy for at least
some of their formerly faithful supporters. Celina Farber of the Epoch Times catalogues
a growing wave of revolt against Democrats’ embrace of socialism and no borders
and general insanity under the rubric of #Walkaway:
When
actor James Woods tweeted out the hashtag “#WalkAway” in late June, even the
alt-right missed the enormity of what lay beneath it. The Democratic Party had,
in fact, struck an iceberg.
Some
5 million people on Facebook and YouTube have seen the video by now. A very
handsome gay man, who you just assume is about to scold you on progressive talking
points, instead says this:
“Once
upon a time, I was a liberal. Well, to be honest, less than a year ago, I was
still a liberal.
“I
reject a system which allows an ambitious, misinformed and dogmatic mob to
suppress free speech, create false narratives, and apathetically steamroll over
the truth.”
It
is always difficult to extrapolate from social media popularity to mass impact
at the polls, there may well be an “emperor has no clothes” effect for all
those suburban soccer moms that are supposed to be appalled by Donald Trump,
who are also seeing Maxine Waters call for harassment of Trump administration
officials and are not anxious to throw open the borders. They don’t have
to vote for Republicans in the midterms (though that would be nice), all they
have to do is not vote at all, “walking away” from a party that has lost its
mind.
We
have more than four months left before the election. That is time for this
movement to become well known among habitual Democratic voters taken aback at
the descent into madness of their former political party.
The Walk Away Movement
From
Dr. Stephen Jones: Jul 10, 2018
The
Democratic Party is losing its membership rather quickly, mostly due to its
aversion to free speech and its promotion of violence against those who
disagree with them. This has done much to shatter past perceptions of what the
Democratic Party has stood for. Perhaps the most significant change is how an
increasing number of black voters are now supporting President Trump.
This
change seems to have gained momentum when Kanye West came out in full support
of Trump a few months ago (January?). He took a lot of heat from the press and
the black leadership in Congress, but suddenly others began to see that he had
a point.
The
“Walk Away” movement is gaining momentum, strangely enough, among liberals and
even in the gay community. Blacks and Hispanics too are beginning to realize
that the Democratic Party (as a party) has a long history of racism and racist
philosophies, and that even the big push for Socialism and a Welfare State has
only put them into bondage to the state. When I listened to a drag queen come
out in support of Trump, I realized that the Democratic Party was in serious
trouble.
If
this movement continues to grow, it is doubtful if the Democrats will increase
their power in the mid-term elections this coming November.
Here
are a few short testimonials from such people. Each has his/her own story to
tell, coming from different backgrounds. I left out some very enlightening testimonials
because of some crude language (street talk). The four testimonials below are
more than enough to give you an idea of what is happening in America.
