For many months—even years—we knew that August 15, 2021 was a date to watch, because it was the 50^th anniversary (Jubilee) of America going off the gold standard “temporarily” in 1971. The event in 1971 itself had gutted the Bretton Woods Agreement in 1944, which had created a new financial order after the devastation from World War 2.

America had come through World War 2 without any devastation of its cities and infrastructure, and it had a large gold reserve, as well as silver. So the US dollar was made the world reserve currency and was given the main responsibility to stabilize the dollar with gold.

However, the Vietnam War caused America to spend huge sums of money, and by 1965 its huge silver holdings had been depleted. So the silver in the US coins was replaced by other metals and the Silver Certificates (paper currency) were replaced by Federal Reserve Notes.

The final blow to the integrity of the dollar came when President Nixon, in 1971, declared that the dollar would no longer be convertible to gold. The gold-backed dollar was then replaced by the petro-dollar through an agreement with Saudi Arabia. The Saudis would sell their oil only in US dollars, and the US military would protect the Saudis.

The US dollar, then, was backed by oil, rather than by gold and silver. Hence, we saw the rise of the so-called “petro-dollar.” That system lasted 50 years, and it has now come to an end. Perhaps the 1971 agreement had secretly drawn up a 50-year contract.

Saudi Arabia Signs Defense Agreement with Russia

On August 24, 2021 the Saudis signed a military agreement with Russia. Perhaps this was a last-minute arrangement in the wake of the US retreat from Afghanistan on August 15. But I doubt it.

Saudi Arabia and Russia have signed a military cooperation agreement at an arms expo outside Moscow.

Saudi Deputy Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman announced on Twitter on August 24 that he signed the agreement with Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin “aimed at developing joint military cooperation between the two countries.”

Salman also met with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu during his visit outside Moscow to the arms expo International Military-Technical Forum Army-2021.

The deputy defense minister said the meeting explored ways to "strengthen military and defense cooperation between our two countries."

I have no inside information, but it seems to me that military cooperation agreements are never drawn up in just nine days. These things take months and even years of negotiations. So I suspect that the 1971 agreement was a 50-year contract, and as we draw near, the Saudis decided to negotiate a defense agreement with Russia.

The transition will take some time, of course, but the biggest impact upon America is that the US dollar will lose its world reserve currency status. Its status has been eroding already for many years, but this will soon be formalized.

What will replace it? It seems most likely that a basket of currencies will replace it, rather than a single currency. The world learned its lesson. The US government had weaponized the dollar through economic sanctions and by cutting off access to the SWIFT payments system through the Federal Reserve. The nations will no longer trust a single nation with such power, unless some nation gains the power and influence to force its will upon the world.

The real question is this: What will the Russians be given in exchange for their military protection? The US government was given a new (oil) backing of the dollar. Will the Saudis begin selling oil in rubles? This does not seem likely. More likely, the World Bank will set up a basket of currencies and issue Special Drawing Rights (SDR’s), which the Saudis will then accept as payment for its oil.

Nigeria Signs Defense Agreement with Russia

On August 25, 2021 Nigeria too signed a military cooperation agreement with Russia.

ABUJA, Aug 25 (Reuters) - Nigeria and Russia have signed a military cooperation deal providing a legal framework for the supply of equipment and the training of troops, the Nigerian embassy in Moscow said on Wednesday.

President Muhammadu Buhari had expressed interest in such a pact with Russia as far back as 2019, when he met with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin at a Russia-Africa summit.

The Nigerian ambassador to Russia at the time said Buhari felt Russia could help defeat the Boko Haram Islamic insurgency in the northeast of the country, which remains a major problem.

Both Saudi Arabia and Nigeria are very important oil-producing countries—as is Russia itself. Again, what does Russia gain from the deal? We will have to watch this closely, because Russia is gaining world influence as world confidence in the US declines. The Afghanistan debacle served to mark the specific point in time where world confidence in the US government’s power to protect its allies ended. The world will never be the same again.

490 Days: April 21, 2020 to August 24, 2021

Last year on April 21, 2020, oil futures dropped as low as MINUS $37/barrel. That means a person could theoretically be paid $37 to purchase a barrel of oil!

The formerly unthinkable drop in oil prices below $0 a barrel on Monday is still reverberating through financial markets, as supply overwhelms demand destroyed by the coronavirus pandemic, forcing some energy companies into possible bankruptcy as storage reaches maximum capacity.

Indeed, the now-defunct May West Texas Intermediate crude US:CLK20, which expired on Tuesday, plunged into negative territory to start the week in a history-making event that saw, the front-month contract, at the time, settle at negative $37.63 a barrel before recovering some of that in the following session.

The main problem was that no one had any spare storage space, so no one wanted to buy the oil. This caused an unprecedented price collapse to “negative $37.63 a barrel.” We recognized at the time that the petro-dollar had just died in front of our eyes for all to see. We knew that this was a major prophetic event in the collapse of the US dollar—as well as a major sign of the collapse of Mystery Babylon as a whole.

What we did not know at the time was that this oil-price collapse was the start of a 490-day cycle ending with the Saudi-Russian defense agreement on August 24, 2021. When Nigeria signed a similar agreement the next day, the importance of this time was confirmed by the double witness.

Our Defense Agreement with God

Of course, God is always ahead of the game. He knows the end from the beginning, and He always takes steps to defend His people in the midst of tribulation in the world. In this case, we were led to hold a 3-day Prayer for Deliverance from April 8-10, 2020, nearly two weeks before the collapse of oil prices. The first day we prayed Psalm 46, which began: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea.”

The second day we prayed Psalm 91, which says, “I will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!... No evil will befall you, nor will any plague come near your tent. For He will give His angels charge concerning you, to guard you in all your ways.”

The third day was a combination of Scriptures, and we prayed: “We receive Your Divine protection now through the high praise of Your Word through Isaiah” (Isaiah 26:9 KJV).

My Fast: August 2-14, 2021

As most of you know, I was led to go on an extended fast beginning August 2 and ending on the evening of August 14. The breakthrough occurred on August 11, when the “famine of hearing the word” was broken. This “famine” was mentioned in Amos 8:11, and for me it ended on 8-11 (August 11). I did not make that connection until others pointed it out to me after the fact.

At any rate, from April 8, 2020, when we started our prayer of deliverance, until August 11, 2021, when the famine of hearing the word was broken, was precisely 490 days. When dates align like this, it shows a direct correlation between them. The cycle itself is a grace period before the event is applicable.

In this case, our deliverance prayers were made just prior to the oil price collapse in 2020, and 490 days later, we received the breakthrough just before the oil agreements were signed with Russia. This is not a coincidence. Though we see big changes coming in the geopolitical world, we know that God will protect His people and lead them by His word  through these troubling times. While the nations plan their next moves, God is preparing us for His big move.

MEN ARE FROM MARS?

Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus (1992) is a book written by American author and relationship counselor John Gray. The book states that most common relationship problems between men and women are a result of fundamental psychological differences between the sexes.  Gray writes how men and women each monitor the amount of give and take in relationships.

Regardless of the hype poured forth by feminists, women’s rights activists, and other left leaning groups, males and females are different.  They were created to be different in many ways.  They look different; they have different sexual functions; different reasoning abilities; different levels of strength and physical abilities; different psychological viewpoints; and many others.

That does not mean that one gender is inferior to the other, just they have different functions as they were created to have.

As would be expected, more men view porn than women.

The pornography gap deepens extensively, however, when the frequency of pornographic use is examined.  In other words porn is an addiction – the more one views the more one needs and the less effect it has on the viewer.

Availability of Porn

The advancement of computers and the internet has spawned a vast pornography industry.  One simple search and a click is all it takes to enter the internet world of porn.

Prior to the internet the porn business was dominated by the so-called Men’s Magazine which was primarily popularized and made somewhat respectable by the Playboy tomb.  However, the internet porn industry quickly drove the Men’s magazines out of business, although there were a few Women’s selections.

Where legally allowed, strip clubs appear to attract much business.  Normal heterosexual men appear to enjoy viewing naked women.  The more they show - the higher the interest level particularly if they look decent (but not always). 

The recent exhibition with women exposing for display various parts of their body such as:  tight pants highlighting rears and crotches; high rising shorts displaying the bottom of rears; see through blouses; tee shirts occasionally with no bra; pants with rips and holes in them; halter tops; and various other clothing items does not liberate the woman but invites lustful leering and immoral thoughts among their male audience.

Many years ago I watched a movie where one of the actors made this comment about a woman’s pubic area and I paraphrase, “if you think about it, there’s not really much to see, but I can’t think of anything I would rather look at”.  His male companions muttered and nodded in agreement.

During the 70’s and 80’s several B movies were produced presenting various levels of naked women in them.  Breasts and rears were commonly displayed but the pubic area was only rarely exposed.  The question is Why?  As the above paragraph explains, “there’s not really much to see”, which I agree with, but why the essential prohibition?  The answer: that area is the fundamental core of lust.

I have mentioned this subject in another article but it deserves additional attention.  The majority of Muslim and African migrants allowed to enter the European area, particularly Germany, have a history of only viewing women fully dressed in robes with their head and face covered.  Being surrounded by girls wearing tight clothing or very little clothing is more than there depressed sexual urges can stand.  Thus they are highly susceptible of committing rape and other atrocities.

Normal traditional women are attracted to men for some reason I do not completely understand.  However normal traditional women want to be loved, protected, and cared for not to enter male strip clubs.  But do women enjoy viewing naked men?  The below poll and its information is relatively recent.  The results would most likely be different if taken in the 60’s and 70’s.

David and Bathsheba

David was walking on his palace rooftop and saw Bathsheba naked taking a bath.  He later discovered she was married but his lust clouded his better judgment and he had Bathsheba delivered to him.

2 Samuel 11:2-3 NET One evening David got up from his bed and walked around on the roof of his palace. From the roof he saw a woman bathing. Now this woman was very attractive. (3) So David sent someone to inquire about the woman. The messenger said, "Isn't this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?"

David slept with Bathsheba, she became pregnant, and David tried to get her husband to go home and sleep with her as a coverup.  Uriah refused to do so until his military mission was fulfilled so David sent him to commandeer a military unit where there was a high possible he would be killed, and he was killed.

It is doubtful David would have had the same reaction if Bathsheba had been fully dressed or even partially dressed.  It was her naked beauty that elicited David’s lust of the eyes and his extreme reaction.

Biblical Concepts

Scripture says that God created both male and female humans, in His own image.  This implies that God is both male and female in His image.  Although each gender has a different function, they are both created in or from the image of God which further implies that God functions as both genders.

Genesis 1:27 NET God created humankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them, male and female he created them.

The man was created from the dust of the ground but the woman was created from the flesh of the man.  Once the male and female were separated and placed in distinct bodies, they were dependent upon each other for their completeness. That is the foundational truth behind the institution of marriage.

Genesis 2:24 NET That is why a man leaves his father and mother and unites with his wife, and they become a new family (one flesh KJV) (implies they become one person).

Several years ago there was a web blog which hosted an article speaking about the concept of “one flesh”.  In this article, the author suspected, without proof, that “one flesh” along with the restrictions concerning women having only one living husband had something to do with a transfer of DNA during sexual intercourse from the male to the female.

There is no proof of this idea and there is no experimentation examining this idea to my knowledge.

Polygamy, Bigamy and Human Rights

The Bible allows men to have more than one wife. It does not allow a woman to have more than one husband at the same time. This is seen in both the Old Testament and the New Testament.

Romans 7:2-3 NET For a married woman is bound by law to her husband as long as he lives, but if her husband dies, she is released from the law of the marriage. (3) So then, if she is joined to another man while her husband is alive, she will be called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law, and if she is joined to another man, she is not an adulteress.

These verses stop women from having more than one husband living at any one time. They do not stop men from having more than one wife because firstly, they quite simply don’t say it, and secondly, it is clearly not a general principle which applies regardless of sex. That can be seen in the way the Old Testament repeats and rewrites laws that apply to men where they apply to women, and in the immediate context of the passage in Romans. The reason the Bible gives is that a woman is under the law of her husband until he dies. While the Bible does talk of marriage partners having authority over each other’s bodies, it never talks of a man being under the law of his wife.

This highlights another principle which rules out polyandry through God’s system of leadership. 1 Corinthians 11 shows that this is:

·        God is the head of Christ

·        Christ is the head of man

·        Man is the head of woman

This would be defined by our society as sexist, but the Bible clearly treats men and women differently – so does God – otherwise men would be able to have babies too! The order does not signify inequality. The Bible teaches that Christ is God just as much as the Father. They are co-equal but have different roles. Obviously, man is not equal to Christ – so the passage does allow for inequality. When we return to man and woman we can see that they can be equal, perhaps in the same way that the Father and Christ are equal, but equality does not mean they are exactly the same or have the same rights and responsibilities.

Although several Old Testament men had more than one wife or concubine (even Abraham) this practice seems to not be favorable in the New Testament.

There could be a reason Old Testament men were allowed to have more than one wife – perhaps a shortage of marriageable women.
