The unclean spirits of Revelation 16 are generally
translated as “frogs” although the Greek word, batrachos is defined as “of uncertain derivation” in most Greek
dictionaries.
Revelation 16:13-16 NET Then I saw three unclean spirits that
looked like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of
the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. (14) For they are the
spirits of the demons performing signs
who go out to the kings of the earth to bring them together for the battle that
will take place on the great day of God, the All-Powerful. (15) (Look! I will
come like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays alert and does not lose his
clothes so that he will not have to walk around naked and his shameful
condition be seen.) (16) Now the spirits gathered the kings and their armies to
the place that is called Armageddon in Hebrew.
The dragon pictured in Revelation 16 is most likely the same
as the red dragon in Revelation 12:9, where he is called “the serpent of old who is called the devil and
Satan, who deceives the whole world.” He is the head of the evil
triumvirate, for in Revelation 13:2 we read that the beast from the sea (i.e.
the Papacy; Holy Roman Empire; the Vatican system) was given power and his
throne and great authority by the dragon himself.
Therefore, the beast from the sea, who is also the called
the “little horn” in Daniel 7:8 and 8:9, was authorized by the dragon to
exercise authority in the earth. It should be noted that the “little horn” had
vast authority within the European middle ages, with its authority being
somewhat obscured at the present. He who
authorizes (i.e. Satan) is greater than the one being authorized. The little horn i.e. the Holy Roman Empire is
an extension of the 4th beast of Daniel which was the Roman
Empire. The beasts in order as Daniel
saw them are: Babylon; Medo-Persea;
Greek Empire; and the Roman Empire. John
sees the four beast empires of Daniel as one amalgamated or composite beast
(Revelation 13:2). This composite
appearance would suggest the “little horn” or Holy Roman Empire would have
characteristics of the previous manifestations of the four consecutive beasts
seen by Daniel.
For those studying the prophetic meaning of the ten plagues
on Egypt, it can be said that frogs signify unclean spirits, false teachings,
or destructive ideologies, which lead to war.
The unclean spirit of the beast is mostly the doctrine of
hell and eternal torment. It causes even Christians to turn upon one another
and to persecute so-called heretics, dissenters, and anyone who believes
differently. For centuries (until 1869) the Roman Church burned people at the
stake. They justified their cruelty by claiming that God approved of eternal
torment (i.e. the doctrine of eternal hell fire), so a few extra moments of
inflicted torment was well within the bounds of divine justice.
The unclean spirit of the false prophet— that is the
Babylonian banking system (i.e. Rothschilds, Federal Reserve, International
Banks) teaches that war is justified by economic considerations, based on the
love of money. When Iraq’s Saddam
Hussain desired to commission Euros for the sale of oil, the country was
attacked and destroyed by the puppet military of the Jewish bankers (i.e. USA
and NATO). When Libya’s Muammar
Gaddafi desired to use a gold standard, the country was attacked and
destroyed by the same puppet military.
The unclean spirit of the dragon— Satan— seems to stand
above the other two and is more general. If we look at the motive of the red
dragon in Revelation 12, it is designed to prevent Jesus Christ from taking His
rightful place as King of the earth. So the dragon attempted to devour the
Christ-child as soon as He was born (Rev. 12: 4). Secondly, when that failed, he declared war on
the “woman” (i.e. the church) and on her seed— the saints who form the body of
Christ (Rev. 12: 17). The dragon, then, spreads hatred against Christ, the
church, and the overcomers in the attempt to raise up religious persecution
against his great rival, Jesus Christ. The dragon’s desire is to remain “the
ruler of this world” (John 12: 31).
The three unclean spirits appear to be unrighteous
motivational ideologies or teachings by which a triumvirate of demonic power
attempts to withstand Christ in His second coming. The basic motive is hatred.
This hatred finds its expression in secondary motives through the beast and the
false prophet. The beast, which is the little horn, is the Church of Rome. It
expresses the dragon’s hatred of Christ by its doctrine of eternal torment and
by its policy of killing “infidels” and torturing “heretics,” along with
general acts of unkindness toward those who do not submit fully to the
religious hierarchy. This runs contrary to both love and justice that are
rooted in the very nature of Jesus Christ.
The way that Israel expressed the Roman Church’s hatred of
Christ in the Old Testament was by rejecting His (God’s) direct rule and
desiring a man to rule over them. When the people demanded a king, God told the
prophet in 1 Samuel. 8: 7, “they have not rejected you, but they have rejected
Me from being king over them.” Following their example, the Jewish leaders in
the New Testament said in their hearts, “We do not want this man to reign over
us” (Luke 19: 14). The Roman Church has
posited on several occasions that “a man” can alter the laws of God or Christ.
All three “frogs” are rooted in hatred for Jesus Christ, not
wanting Him to claim His rightful place as King of the earth. The main
difference is that while the leaders are quite aware of their hatred of Christ,
most of the average people who are influenced by these leaders are unaware of
the focus of the hatred. Lacking spiritual discernment, they blindly support
their leaders in their war against Jesus Christ.
The triumvirate of these unclean spirits is blinded by
hatred and limited in its understanding. Do they really think that they might
actually win this battle? No, for Rev. 12: 12 says that when the dragon was
cast down to the earth, he has “great wrath, knowing that he has only a short time.”
Likewise, when Jesus cast out the demons in the country of the Gadarenes, we
read in Luke 8: 28-29, “And behold, they cried out, saying, “What do we have to
do with You, Son of God? Have You come here to torment [imprison] us before the
time?” They know that they cannot win, and yet they fight to prolong their
freedom to rule the earth and to influence mankind to do evil. But in the end,
the three “frogs” can only bring the world to the great turning point of
history, where they will be defeated— as they already know.
Dispensationalism
The dispensational concept of Darby and Scofield which was
transformed into Christian Zionism, essentially taught that New Covenant
Christianity was a temporary interruption of the Old Covenant. The Age of Grace or the Church Age was to
last about 2,000 years. They believed that the physical children of Abraham
(whom they identified as the Jews) temporarily lost the right to rule the
earth, but that this lost right would be restored to them in the Kingdom Age.
Along with this came the belief that the Jews would soon
repent and then return to the old land as believers in Christ. Of course, the
return took place, but without their repentance. So Dispensationalism has been
modified from its original tenets in order to induce Christians to support
Zionism as a fulfillment of Bible prophecy.
The Dispensationalist support of Zionism has served to
create Christian Zionists who feel compelled to support the rebuilding of a
physical temple and the reinstatement of animal sacrifices. They also support
the most rabid and cruel policies against the Palestinians, treating them as if
they were ancient Canaanites that must be killed or expelled from their
homeland. Somehow they think that this is what Jesus would do. Some Christian Zionist websites consider the
Palestinians as the Edomites. Furthermore,
Christian leaders often support the most radical Jewish leaders and even
criticize the Jewish state for not exterminating the Palestinians. They take
Joshua’s conquest of Canaan as their model, rather than Jesus’ method of
conquering the world.
Those who consider the Palestinians as Edomites also believe
that Israel will destroy them as fulfillment of the Obadiah prophecy given below
– however, the Edomite Jews will be the recipients of this prophecy.
(Obadiah 1:18) And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and
the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall
kindle in them, and devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of
the house of Esau; for the LORD hath spoken it.
The Edomites (also called Idumeans) were absorbed into the
Jewish tribes (Judah, Benjamin, Levi) around 126 BC when Hyrcanus of the
Maccabees conquered the Edomites and gave them the choice of either becoming a
Jew or being deported. (See The
Curse of Christian Zionism)
Dispensationalism tends to make a distinction between Jews
and Christianity, even giving each its own moral standard. For Jews, morality is
thought to be based on the Old Covenant and its interpretation of the law. For
Christians, morality is thought to be based on lawlessness which they
mistakenly believe is a feature of the New Covenant. This doctrine of two moral
systems only creates a double standard in the Kingdom of God. Jews are allowed
to establish their own standard of morality, based on what is good for Jews,
while “gentiles” must be more loving among themselves, while supporting Jewish
interests, however ungodly these interests may be.
Some Dispensationalists went so far as to separate the
Christian inheritance from the Jewish inheritance. Christians were to inherit
heaven through a mass “rapture”, thus leaving the Jews to inherit the earth.
This was their way of explaining and justifying the double standard which they
had created in the Kingdom of God. Virtually all of them seemed to forget that
Christ had come to abolish the dividing wall that had been erected in the
temple, separating people into ethnic categories as “chosen” or “non-chosen”
people (Eph. 2: 15, 16). Worse yet, many Christian Zionists do all in their
power to provoke Armageddon in the mistaken belief that they can force Christ
to return to save the Jews from extinction. Jews are happy to accept Christian
support and money, but they resent the Christian motive.
Dual Covenant
Theology
Christian Zionism is now evolving into a movement where
Christians are beginning to think that Jews are saved apart from Christ. Their
salvation, they say, is based on adhering to Judaism and its Old Covenant
religion. This is known as Dual Covenant Theology. John Hagee has written a
book, In Defense of Israel, saying that Jesus did not come the first time to be
the Messiah (Christ), which seems to make Peter’s confession pointless when He
proclaimed, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God” (Matt. 16: 16).
Such a view attempts to defend the Jews’ rejection of Jesus as the Messiah. If
Jesus did not really come the first time to be the Messiah, then somehow the
Jews were justified in rejecting Him, and this lessens their accountability
before God.
John Hagee, and others like him, simply do not understand
the biblical story of Absalom who usurped his father’s kingship (i.e. David). David was also betrayed by his best friend,
Ahithophel, similar to the betrayal of Jesus by Judas. Nor does Hagee know how to apply this in the
conflict over the right to rule. This is how preachers end up supporting the
wrong side, betraying Jesus who they claim as their friend.
There are many aspects of Christian Zionism that play into
this lack of understanding. All of these things have their role in causing
Christians to support the move toward the battle of Armageddon. I am not so concerned
about unclean spirits that motivate Jews and Muslims to fight this battle, but
I am concerned about the role of Christians. All men are in need of the truth,
but Christians ought to have a better understanding of the New Covenant and of
biblical prophecy.
THE BEAST FROM THE
SEA
Stephen Langdon, the Archbishop of Canterbury for the
Roman church from 1207-1228 AD, was the person who divided the New Testament
into chapters and verses. He performed
an admirably work but occasionally his divisions were not always correct.
One such mistake was the division of the 12th
and 13th chapters of Revelation.
The first sentence or verse of chapter 13 should be the ending of
chapter 12.
This section should read as follows:
Revelation KJV: (12:17) And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and
went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of
God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. (13:1) And stood (and he stood i.e. the dragon stood [not John as in I stood]) upon
the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads
and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of
blasphemy.
It was the dragon who stood on the sand of the sea and
not the apostle John. The dragon was
conjuring up a beast from the sea after his defeat by the Archangel Michael and
being cast down to the earth (and you
thought Satan and his angels were expelled prior to creation). At this point, Satan no longer has access to
the heavenly court to make accusations due to the crucifixion, shed blood, and
ascension of Jesus Christ. His primary
occupation in heaven is now finished, along with his cohorts, and he can no
longer return (see the book of Job).
Since the Son of God is seated at the right hand of God the Father, and
is now beyond Satan’s influence he now focuses upon the earthly Christians
which is the “remnant of her seed” meaning all Christians are literally of the
family of Jesus.
Revelation 13 a continuation and fulfillment of Daniel's
little horn (extension) of the iron beast of Daniel 7 (the Roman Empire). John, was completely knowledgeable that Daniel
had written on this subject, but he also received further revelation on the
subject that Daniel did not get.
Revelation
13:1-2 says,
1 … And I saw a beast coming up out of
the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and on his horns were ten diadems,
and on his heads were blasphemous names. 2 And the beast which I saw was like a
leopard, and his feet were like those of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth
of a lion. And the dragon gave him his power and his throne and great
authority.
Daniel saw four distinct beasts (Daniel 7:3),
however, John saw just one hybrid beast composed of characteristics of all four
beasts envisioned by Daniel. Daniel’s
beasts were basically portrayed as a lion, bear, leopard, and a nameless
iron-toothed beast. John, on the other hand, sees a single beast with the mouth
of a lion, feet of a bear, and the appearance of a leopard and some other
characteristics.
It is apparent that Daniel saw a succession of empires,
each in turn opposing God’s Kingdom. But John sees all of these beast empires
as a single, continuous, dragon-inspired empire. Both are correct, of course,
but from different viewpoints.
In Daniel’s vision of four beasts, he sees also a fifth
that is like an extension of the fourth beast in the progression of history
referred to as “the little horn”. These four or five beasts are: Babylon (607-537 B.C.); Medo-Persia (537-330 B.C.); Greece (332-63 B.C.); Rome (63-476 B.C.); and Rome extended / the
“little horn” (Roman Church). A “horn”
is symbolic of power or authority. The
horn of an animal was seen as its primary weapon by which it dominated others
by force.
Daniel 7:7- 8 illustrates
that this “horn” is an outgrowth of the fourth beast with iron teeth (Rome).
That is our first major clue as to its interpretation. This “horn” assumes power as a successor to
the Roman Empire. It is, in fact, Papal Rome – not just the Pope but the entire
organization.
A Death Wound
Healed
Revelation 13:3 KJV And I
saw one of his heads as it were wounded
to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after
the beast.
The KJV translation of “as it were wounded to death” appears in other versions as:
“appeared to have been killed;
seemed to have had a fatal wound; as slain to death; though it had been smitten unto death; as if
it had been slain to death; appeared to have been wounded to death”
These various interpretations of the original Greek seem
to indicate the beast appeared to be “done away with” but nobody could be
actually certain.
Did the beast have a death wound? Those prophecy students expecting a person
appearing as the beast, who they usually call “the antichrist”, will debate the
possibility of an actual death and then the possibility of an actual resurrection
of the beast. Since the beast from the
sea is not any particular person but an organization known as the Roman Church
with a supposed leader called the Pope (although he may not actually be the
power at all times) the concept of death and resurrection can take several
forms.
The pope was actually taken captive by Napoleon and
placed in prison where he died in 1798.
Later Napoleon considered a Pope necessary to conduct his emperor
coronation, so he reinstated a person as pope in 1800.
Dragon Worship
Revelation 13:4 KJV And they worshipped the dragon which gave
power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto
the beast? who is able to make war with him?
The dragon worship is symbolic because the European
Catholics did not mentally or physically call out to a dragon with prayer and
worship. I hesitate to say that Catholic
doctrines and liturgies are satanic, however, a pope claiming the power to
nullify and amend the teachings of the apostles and even those of Jesus Christ
is a satanic concept. A man claiming to
be equal to or greater than God (or Jesus) appears in 13:5-6 where the leader
of the Roman Church has a mouth speaking arrogant blasphemy.
Revelation 13:5-6 KJV
And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and
blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two
months. (6) And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against
God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
The little horn of Daniel and the beast of Revelation is
given authority and the power to reign for 42 months which is equivalent to
1260 “days” that are actually years, according to verse 5. This time frame began with Justinian from 529
to 534 AD when Roman law was changed to reflect church law. He also changed the yearly calendar count
from the Roman system to the Gregorian system.
The time period of the little horn began with Justinian in Constantinople
but quickly transferred to the Roman Church hierarchy and specifically the
Pope.
The French
Revolution
This 1260 year time span is the period from Justinian to
the French Revolution in 1789-1794. The
revolution completely disrupted Europe and the Roman Church.
The French Revolution, 1789-1793, overthrew the Roman
Church in France, killed or exiled its monarchs, and established what they
called a Republic. The pope joined a
European coalition in 1795, sending 12,000 troops to fight against France and to
bring it back under church control.
In 1796 France sent Napoleon to Austria and Italy which
were easily defeated. When Pope Pius VI
refused to renounce political power, he was taken captive and Napoleon expelled
the entire Roman curia. The pope later died in a French prison in Valence at the
age of 82. As his health failed, Napoleon issued an order that no successor
should be named. However, eventually
Napoleon allowed Pope Pius VII to be elected in Venice on March 14, 1800. His relationship with Napoleon was often
troublesome, and in fact, Napoleon imprisoned him as well from 1809-1813.
Napoleon became weakened after his calamitous invasion of
Russia in 1812 and he was forced to step down in 1814. After his abdication, the nations of Europe
met at the Congress of Vienna to “redraw the map of Europe” and produced what
came to be known as the Holy Alliance in 1815.
War Against The
Saints
Revelation 13:7 KJV
And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome
them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
Many prophecy students are awaiting the so-called
“antichrist” to appear and begin killing Christians. At the moment I would say there are very few
actual, real Christians to round up and kill in Europe and the Western world. The Middle East terrorists have supposedly
murdered the majority of the Christians in that area and they aren’t the beast
per se. However, millions of Christians
were killed by some means during the reign of the little horn.
The Revelation 13 description of the beast from the sea
is a continuation and expansion of the Daniel 7 prophecy concerning the “little
horn”. Daniel indicates the Vatican/Pope
situation will continue until the return of Christ, although the killing of
Christians by the Roman Church has apparently stopped.
Daniel 7:21-22 KJV I
beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against
them; (22) Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment
was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints
possessed the kingdom.
The Roman Church was given power (or authority) over all
kindreds (races), and tongues, and nations.
When scripture speaks of nations and tongues it usually only refers to
those of Europe and the Biblical area.
It is doubtful if Africa, the Americas, and other remote places would be
included within the grasp of this first beast.
But yet the Church came back to life, and the second
beast gave its authority to the first.
THE BEAST FROM THE
EARTH I.E. THE FALSE PROPHET
The Beast from the Sea or the Roman Church came back to life
and the coming earth beast gave its authority to the sea beast, although it
retained its power over the Roman church. The financial powers of the
time, not originally the Rothschild’s, made an alliance with the resurrected
Roman church, and later, we will discover, the Rothschild banks became the church’s
money manager, holding the key to Rome’s money through the decision of the Holy
Alliance.
Historical
Background
Revelation 13:11-12 KJV (11) And I beheld another beast
coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a
dragon. (12) And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast
before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the
first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
Although the description of the second beast appears to be a
passive, peaceful, and harmless entity as a lamb, it actually speaks as a
dragon i.e. a dragon in sheep’s clothing, which implies a secret
organization. The earth beast does not come to power until the first has
received a deadly wound and then is healed. History shows this second beast was
actually combating the sea beast for supremacy and used Napoleon to deliver the
deadly wound. However, in some odd configuration, the earth beast ends up
supporting the sea beast through a possible alliance or accommodation.
It was previously established that the French Revolution
(1789-1794) essentially put an end to the European dominance of the Roman
Church (1260 year time span).
The revolution was fomented by well-funded secret
societies. The Masonic Order takes credit but were funded by the
Illuminati which was a group founded by Adam Weishaupt. His Illuminati
group was funded by a group of Jewish bankers who considered him to be useful
to their cause against the Roman church. Weishaupt’s plans were discovered
and his Illuminati group was suppressed and forced to go underground.
However, the French revolution continued as planned with banker Moses
Mendelssohn, and others, funding the underground Illuminati effort thus showing
that the plot to overthrow France was bigger than Weishaupt. The
Rothschilds did not become wealthy until around 1796 at which point they played
a large role in the Earth Beast’s endeavors for the next two centuries.
Power and Worship
Revelation 13:12 presents an interesting situation.
The second beast executes the power of the first beast but allows the first
beast to retain its outward image and worship capabilities.
There appears to be a relationship or agreement that was
initiated allowing the conquered beast, with renewed life, to be worshipped and
perform church business as in previous times. The bottom line is - the second
beast does not want to be worshipped or be out in the open and revealed as
other than a banking institution. This second beast prefers to remain hidden
and to keep the previous beast in place as the visible object of worship while
holding the reigns of power.
Revelation 13:12 KJV And he exerciseth (executes) all the
power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell
therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
Mystery Babylon or “the great harlot” by its name “mystery”
is secret or hidden from view. The exchange or transition of power from
the first beast to the second beast may explain the dragon representing all the
previous beast empires. The beasts, going back to Babylon were hidden to
begin ruling in secret. After 1260 years of rule by the beast from the
sea, a new beast took all the authority of the first beast leaving it as a figurehead
for Catholic worship purposes, i.e. the earth beast rules over the religious
beast or sea beast (Holy See).
A secret organization with a secret commitment leaves very
little evidence of their purposes. However, a few scraps can be found.
“It is a somewhat curious sequel to the attempt to set up a
Catholic competitor to the Rothschilds that at the present time the
latter are the guardians of the papal treasure.”

In other words, the Rothschilds became the “guardians” of
the Vatican’s wealth, holding the key to Rome’s money. The term “guardian”
suggests that the Roman church had been allowed to survive its deadly wound
only on condition that it turned over its property and finances to the
Rothschilds as their legal guardians. Thus, the Vatican had to admit legally
that it was incapable of administering its own affairs on account of its past
excesses.
Doubtless, it was the powers of the Holy Alliance that
discussed this issue, bringing up earlier fears of Jesuit power. It seems that
they agreed to allow the Jesuit Order to be reinstated, along with the church
itself, on condition that their money be spent with certain limitations at the
approval of the Rothschilds, acting as agents of the world powers.
The Rothschild’s power increased over time, and gradually
they were able to use the power of money (or debt) to assert their will upon
monarchs and nations
The pursuit of power constantly shifted over the years, as
nations, including the church, conspired to increase their own power at the
expense of all others. In 1917 Russia was overthrown by the Rothschild’s
and other banking interests (the Bolshevik Revolution). In 1929 the pope made
an agreement with Mussolini, in which the papacy received about $85 million
from the state of Italy as recompense for their loss of the Papal States in the
1860’s. This money was used to set up the Vatican Bank. It is not known
if the Vatican Bank obtained genuine independence from Rothschild guardianship.
Conclusion
The beast from the earth concurs with the rise of the
Rothschild banking family. They were given authority as “guardians of the
papal treasure” by the Holy Alliance formed after the French Revolution.
During the past two centuries, the Rothschild family sought to gain power, so
that they could obtain authority as the beast of the earth—the final beast that
was to arise before the stone crushed the image as pictured in Nebuchadnezzar’s
statue dream in Daniel 2.
