Jupiter and Saturn - The Kill Shot

 JUPITER AND SATURN

By Dr. Stephen Jones

Blog Post Date:  12-21-2020

Today we are being treated to another sign in the heavens, a marker that signifies good things ahead. Many people need an encouraging sign, but not everyone will understand its meaning.

Jupiter was called Tsedek (or Zadok) in Scripture. It was universally called The King’s Planet around the world, and many applied it to their capital cities. The Romans applied it to Rome, and Jews applied it to Jerusalem. We apply it ultimately to the New Jerusalem, which is the capital of the Kingdom of God.

Jupiter is overtaking Saturn in the heavens and the closest conjunction is occurring today, December 21, 2020. It pictures Jupiter conquering Saturn, which is also how ancient mythology told the story. Jupiter overthrew Saturn and became the King. To us, it pictures Christ overthrowing Satan and becoming King of the universe.

The story was also pictured in Lord of the Rings. Saturn is the ringed planet, and in the story, Sauron is the spirit behind Saturn, who forged rings that were under his control. The story is about the desire to subject the world to the will of Satan. It is about the little people (hobbits) who are able to resist the desire for power and destroy the ring of power, so that Aragorn (a type of Christ) may rule the kingdoms of men in peace and marry his bride.

The Conqueror

Today we are seeing this victory pictured in the heavens. The fact that it occurs just before Christmas brings us back to the story of the Magi, who arrived in Bethlehem on December 25 of 2 BC. On that evening, Jupiter appeared as a star hovering over Bethlehem, as viewed from Jerusalem. It was not the night of Jesus’ birth but marked the arrival of the Magi three months after His birth. The Magi found Him in a “house” (Matthew 2:11), whereas at His birth, there was no room in the inn (Luke 2:7).

When the Magi arrived, they returned to their country by another route without telling Herod that they had found the Christ child (Matthew 2:12). That same time, Joseph took Mary and Jesus to Egypt for His protection. Hence, Jesus was taken to Egypt at the age of 3 months, just as Moses had been taken to the house of Pharaoh for his protection at the age of 3 months (Exodus 2:2).

Now the point of this is to show that Jupiter played a role at Jesus’ birth. The Magi had learned from Daniel that when the King’s Planet (Jupiter) crowned the King’s Star (Regulus), it was the heavenly sign that the Messiah had been born. Regulus was the star positioned between the feet of Leo, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. Jacob prophesied of this star in Genesis 49:10, calling it “the scepter” and “the ruler’s staff from between his feet.”

When they saw Jupiter go past Regulus and then return and then again reverse course, the planet “crowned” Regulus. Then they began their long journey as they followed Jupiter from east to west, finally arriving in Jerusalem. For the full story, see “The Real Christmas Story.”

On September 23, 2017 Jupiter was again a sign in the heavens, as the planet, representing Christ, appeared to be birthed out of the womb of Virgo, the Virgin.

Today we are seeing Jupiter once again as a sign in the heavens. If it is to be understood as a parallel to the arrival of the Magi, then perhaps we should expect the slaughter of the children in Bethlehem. However, Jupiter is overcoming Saturn, who was said to have devoured his son.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saturn_Devouring_His_Son

Revelation 12 pictures this in terms of the Red Dragon desiring to devour Christ as soon as He is born. King Herod was an Edomite. Edom means “red.” He was the manifestation of the Red Dragon in his day. He was also playing the role of Saturn, who feared the rightful King who would replace him.

At the time, Jesus was too young to be the king of Jerusalem. His birth only marked the start of a longer story which is now reaching its culmination in our time.

Hence, today’s sign appears to be the opposite of what happened under Herod. It should be seen as the book end, not as a repeat performance. What happened to the children of Bethlehem 2000 years ago was like Saturn (Satan) devouring his children; but today Jupiter, in essence, is devouring Saturn. To devour, in Hebrew thought, is to conquer.

For this reason, I see this as a sign of conquest, not as a sign that we should “flee to Egypt.” Jesus is no longer a child in need of protection. He is now fully grown and is conquering all. No longer does Babylon have dominion in the earth. We are at the other end of history. Therefore, Jupiter is not alone in this heavenly sign. Jupiter has rapidly caught up to Saturn and is hitting it today. Jupiter is giving Saturn a “kill shot.”

Whereas Jupiter (Christ) fled to Egypt when He was a child, He has returned in victory today.

Here is a snapshot of the heavens, which I took at 10 a.m. today (CST). You can see Jupiter overlying upon Saturn. Saturn is invisible except for its rings that appear to be part of Jupiter. But actually, Saturn is behind Jupiter. Perhaps we can say that Jupiter now has the ring of power.

Personal Precedents

In the original prophetic pattern, December 21, 1981 was a low point in my life after resigning from the church in Las Cruces and after finding myself betrayed by friends (December 16-18). This was part of my original death spiral, but a year later the same dates were converted to my resurrection spiral.

On December 21, 1982 the head of the Net of Prayer made a wrong turn and found himself just outside my hometown. I had sent him a letter asking to talk with him, and so he took this as a word from the Lord to drive into town and call me. When the phone rang, I knew who it was immediately, and we then talked for about two hours before he went on his way. This occurred on December 21, 1982, and it marked a progression from negative to positive.

We did not know, of course, that many years later Jupiter would give a kill shot to Saturn on the same date. Hence, I see this sign in the same light. History has progressed, even as I saw the progression from 1981-1982 and again from 2017 (birth) to 2020 (maturity).

So once again, the news is all good, in spite of what the news media says. God has a different view of current news. So let us continue to walk in faith, not in fear.

ANOTHER SIDE TO JUPITER

Notice in the previous blog about Jupiter and Saturn that this conjunction is occurring in Sagitarius, the Archer. Biblically, an archer is a teacher shooting the arrow of truth. The prophet Joel speaks of "the former rain moderately," which can also be translated "the teacher of righteousness." This is a reference to Christ, whose arrow is aimed at the heart of Scorpio who had bruised the heel of the woman with the sting of death.

Notice in the picture that the Sun and Mercury have now met together at the bow of Sagitarius, just as Jupiter hits Saturn. This speaks of the light of truth (sun) being shot from the bow, as an arrow. It is another way of picturing the kill shot against Saturn, the child devourer. Arrows also represent sons. The sons of God are the arrows of Sagitarius, the Teacher of Righteousness. He is the blessed one who has a quiver full of them, as the Psalmist tells us.

Saturn devoured his children, and the Red Dragon tried to devour Christ as soon as he was born (in Revelation 12). God's solution is to shoot the beast with the arrows of His sons who speak the truth. This is probably to be interpreted also as a sign that the abortion laws are about to be overturned. Abortions were always designed to try to prevent the birth of the sons of God, just as in Moses' day the boys were killed to prevent the deliverer from coming. Pharaoh may not have had any knowledge of what was behind his law, but the spirit of the Red Dragon certainly knew.
