THE RUSSIA, IRAN, TURKEY TRIANGLE

Because many theologians have assumed that the Jews are Israel, they have also assumed that Zionism was a movement of Israelites to the old land in fulfillment of Bible prophecy.  With the rumored coalition forming between Russia, Iran, and Turkey, several Christian Zionist bloggers have once again signaled the Gog-Magog invasion prophesied by the prophet Ezekiel (which can be found in chapters 38 and 39) is being prepared to occur at any moment.  This is particularly true on the David Bay - Cutting Edge website which hosts a major article on the subject.

Things peaked today with articles about the Russian, Turkey, Iran “triangle” coalition against Daesh. The highest level visits have been going on between them for the last ten days to finalize preliminary staff work.

On several occasions, I have written that this prophecy has mostly already occurred.  Only the destruction of the invaders remains to be fulfilled which will take place at the return of Jesus Christ.  To be fair, I received this idea from Dr. Stephen Jones several years ago.  After some study and research (I had already unknowingly done most of it) it became personally accepted as a fact.

When does it happen?  Revelation 19:17-18 contains a description of the carnage which is taken directly from Ezekiel 39:17-20, which is the conclusion of the battle that destroys Gog and Magog after their invasion.

Revelation 19:17-18 NET  (17)  Then I saw one angel standing in the sun, and he shouted in a loud voice to all the birds flying high in the sky: "Come, gather around for the great banquet of God,  (18)  to eat your fill of the flesh of kings, the flesh of generals, the flesh of powerful people, the flesh of horses and those who ride them, and the flesh of all people, both free and slave, and small and great!"

In that passage, the prophet himself was told to speak to the birds of heaven:

Ezekiel 39:17-20 NET  "As for you, son of man, this is what the sovereign LORD says: Tell every kind of bird and every wild beast: 'Assemble and come! Gather from all around to my slaughter which I am going to make for you, a great slaughter on the mountains of Israel! You will eat flesh and drink blood.  (18)  You will eat the flesh of warriors and drink the blood of the princes of the earth — the rams, lambs, goats, and bulls, all of them fattened animals of Bashan.  (19)  You will eat fat until you are full, and drink blood until you are drunk, at my slaughter which I have made for you.  (20)  You will fill up at my table with horses and charioteers, with warriors and all the soldiers,' declares the sovereign LORD.

The metaphor paints a picture of a great battlefield, where vultures gather to feast on the dead bodies of those slain in battle.

This is said to be God’s “sacrifice.” In Leviticus 6:26, “the priest who offers it for sin (i.e. a sin offering) shall eat it.”  But in the case of Gog and Magog, God’s sacrifice is for the birds of prey, which eat dead carcasses that still have blood in them. Such birds are unclean (Leviticus 11:13-19) for that very reason, for God’s law forbids eating blood (Leviticus 17:10-13).

God created unclean animals according to spiritual principles in order to show us prophetic things. We are not to eat blood, because we are not to be bloodthirsty. Yet because Gog and Magog have been bloodthirsty, God will bring judgment upon them in accordance with their own ways.

The same verdict, then, is decreed against Gog and Magog in Ezekiel 39, pictured graphically as a call to the birds of prey to come and feast on the carcasses of the invaders.

Because Revelation 19:17-18 refers to the prophecy in Ezekiel 39, it is clear that the heavenly invasion is designed to put an end to Gog’s occupation of “the mountains of Israel.” No doubt this prophecy has a broader application, but the focus is upon a specific situation. So who are these invaders of the mountains of Israel?

The Revelation 19:17-18 scripture reference occurs directly before the verses describing the so-called “battle of Armageddon”.  The destruction of Gog-Magog and the Armageddon annihilation could very well be the same event at basically the same location.  This would place the Gog destruction consisting of hailstones, fire, and brimstone with the Armageddon war within the confines of the nation of Israel alluding to Israel as the approximate location of the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies.

Revelation 19:19 NET  Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies assembled to do battle with the one who rode the horse and with his army.

The Identity of the Invaders

Most prophecy teachers today teach that Magog is Russia and Gog are the Russians, or the leader of the Russians.  Ezekiel 38:3 says, “Behold, I am against you, O Gog, prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal.” Prophecy teachers usually teach that Rosh is Russia, Meshech is Moscow, and Tubal is Tobolsk, a city in Russia that was founded in 1587.

However, these names go back much farther in history, for they are the names of the sons of Japheth in Genesis 10:2 and not necessarily the names of Russian cities.

Genesis 10:2 NET  The sons of Japheth were Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.

Verse 3 gives us the names of the descendants of Gomer, the oldest son of Japheth.

Genesis 10:3 NET  The sons of Gomer were Askenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah.

In particular the grandson of Japheth named Togarmah is said to be allied with Gog in Ezekiel 38:5-6

Ezekiel 38:5-6 NET  Persia, Ethiopia, and Put are with them, all of them with shields and helmets.  (6)  They are joined by Gomer with all its troops, and by Beth Togarmah from the remote parts of the north with all its troops — many peoples are with you.

In the book of Esther, it can be understood that many Persians (Iranians) converted to Judaism, most likely to be on the side of power since the Jews were given the authority to kill those citizens thought to have offended them.  This is one reason some people do not believe that Esther is an authentic canonical book of the Bible because this story line appears to be so Jewish-like throughout history (but that is another story).

Esther 8:17 KJV  And in every province, and in every city, whithersoever the king's commandment and his decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a good day. And many of the people of the land became Jews; for the fear of the Jews fell upon them.

Also notice in the last sentence that “many of the people of the land became Jews”.  Through fear of possibly being hung, many of the Persians became Jews in a religious sense, not in a genealogical manner.  This accounts for the so-called Persian Jews that invaded the land of Canaan as prophesied in Ezekiel 38-39. 

A few articles have been issued as of late concerning Ethiopian Jews returning to Israel, although they do not appear to be welcomed by the Khazarians.  “Put” is identified in some commentaries as Libya.

The invaders, then, are identified as descendants of Japheth, with special emphasis given to the sons of Gomer, Japheth’s oldest son.  The majority of these Japhethites can be traced to the Khazarians of the Ukraine area who converted to Judaism somewhere between 620 and 740 A.D.  They were later conquered and deported by the Rus and the Persians.  Many migrated to Russia and Eastern Europe and came to be called Ashkenazi Jews.  Ashkenaz was the brother of Togarmah and probably lived and intermarried in the same area.

Togarmah is the nephew of Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, and Meshech.   Most of the Khazar history was unknown to the western world (and to prophecy teachers) until 1976, when a Jewish author named Arthur Koestler wrote about it in his book, The Thirteenth Tribe. He told the story of the Jewish doctor for the Caliphate in Cordova, Spain, who heard about a Jewish kingdom and wrote letters of inquiry to King Joseph of the Khazars. The Khazar king’s letter is quoted by most of the historians who write about Khazar history. Koestler writes on page 72,

“Joseph then proceeds to provide a genealogy of his people. Though a fierce Jewish nationalist, proud of wielding the ‘Scepter of Judah,’ he cannot, and does not, claim for them Semitic descent; he traces their ancestry not to Shem, but to Noah’s third son, Japheth; or more precisely to Japheth’s grandson, Togarma, the ancestor of all Turkish tribes. ‘We have found in the family registers,’ Joseph asserts boldly, ‘that Togarma had ten sons, and the names of their offspring are as follows: Uigur, Dursu, Avars, Huns, Basilii, Tarniakh, Khazars, Zagora, Bulgars, Sabir. We are the sons of Khazar, the seventh…”

Statistics show that these Eastern European Jews comprise 80-90% of the world’s Jews, and after immigrating (invading) to the mountains of Israel, the House of Togarmah has become the dominant ethnic group in the Israeli state today.

The invasion of the mountains of Israel was mostly a conquest by immigration a century ago. The invasion of Gog from the land of Magog appears to be an invasion of Russian Jews, not an invasion of Russians themselves. With the invaders have come Jews from “Persia, Ethiopia, and Put” (Ezekiel 38:5), along with Jews from other parts of the world.  This invasion was finally successful in 1948 when the Jewish state was established.

The Rus (“Russians”), however, did not move north from the Mideast, but rather came south toward today’s Russia from Scandinavia. They were a Scandinavian branch originating in the dispersed House of Israel—not from Japheth.  In fact, some of the Ezekiel invaders surely have come from Russia, although this does not mean that they are Russians but rather Khazarian Ashkenazi Jews living in Russia.

Reasons For a Future Non-Invasion

Although not actually referenced in Ezekiel, an invasion by Russia and Iran (and Turkey) would result in a real, full scale WWIII resulting in the nuclear annihilation of the majority of the planet.  The modern nation of Israel possesses an armory of planes, tanks, missiles, and nuclear weapons which they will readily employ.  Israel has stated they will engage their “Samson option” which is to use every weapon and every nuclear warhead they possess.  It is my belief that God will not allow a nuclear decimation of the world prior to the return of Jesus, but I could be wrong.

Israel is currently the only nation in the world enclosed with a wall.  They do not live quietly nor do they consider themselves secure.  However, this would describe the Arabs living in Palestine up to the 1930’s prior to the invasion by the Ashkenazi Jew gangs.

Ezekiel 38:11 NET  You will say, "I will invade a land of unwalled towns; I will advance against those living quietly in security — all of them living without walls and barred gates.

Many of the Ashkenazi Jews came from the far north and many actually rode horses during their early gang days in Palestine.  That would not be true today with Russia, Iran, and Turkey, although the use of “horses” may be symbolic and not literal.

Ezekiel 38:15 NET  and come from your place, from the remote parts of the north, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great company and a vast army.

A plague only infecting a group of future invaders would definitely be a supernatural act and it will not happen.  However, a torrential downpour consisting of hailstones, fire, and brimstone is very possible but it would affect everyone in the area – invaders and inhabitants alike.  Of course, the inhabitants are the invaders so the downpour of burning rocks does not need to be selective.  Keep in mind, the actual Palestinian victims mostly live in a small area along the coast away from the walled area of the Ashkenazi Jews called the Gaza strip.

Ezekiel 38:22 NET  I will judge him with plague and bloodshed. I will rain down on him, his troops and the many peoples who are with him a torrential downpour, hailstones, fire, and brimstone.

It is fairly certain that Ethiopia and Libya will not attack Israel.  Ethiopia has no military to speak of and Libya has been decimated by NATO and the USA.
