The Number of Mankind (not a man)

Revelation 13:18 KJV  Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

Most versions translate the Greek word “Anthropos” as “man” or “a man”.  However all Greek dictionaries define the word as human being or all human individuals.  Therefore the word “anthropos” should be translated as:  mankind, or human beings, or all humanity.

1) a human being, whether male or female

1a) generically, to include all human individuals

The Concordant Literal Version actually translates the word as “mankind”.

Revelation 13:18 CLV  Here is wisdom. Let him who has a mind calculate the number of the wild beast, for it is the number of mankind, and its number is six hundred sixty-six."

The above definition could be accurate proof the beast is not necessarily one specific man.  The practice of gematria or converting the letters of a person’s name to a number with the goal of reaching 666 is a complete waste of time.  666 is the number of mankind and not a particular man.

Solomon’s Gold

Recently, it was explained to me that practically everything in the Revelation has a counterpart in the Old Testament.  The number “666” is the weight of gold in talents that Solomon acquired each year.

2 Chronicles 9:13 CLV  And the weight of the gold that is coming to Solomon in one year is six hundred and sixty and six talents of gold,

It could be said the Rothschild instigated banking system, along with the Federal Reserve (and similar institutions in other countries), the International Bank, and other worldwide banking systems, constitute the second beast.  The British Rothschild system began around the same time that Napoleon imprisoned the pope to his death, and later reinstituted the papacy to have a pope to crown Napoleon emperor.  The papacy would thus be the first beast from the sea (Holy See as a play on words) who suffered a fatal wound and then was resurrected in a sense.  The Roman Church would be the little horn of Daniel 7 that appeared among the 10 horns of the Roman Empire.  It has been said (although I have no proof) that the papacy and the Rothschild banking system (Jews) are partners in a one world government conspiracy.  One supplies the money and the other attempts to create a one world religious system, which would actually be pagan or Satanic in nature.  It would certainly not honor God the Father as the Creator and would restrict the work of Jesus Christ or even deny that He is the Son of God.  It could possibly be on the level of Horus and Isis with the Mother Mary playing the role of Isis.

The Mark and Money

The so-called mark of the beast would be related to the love (adoration) of acquiring wealth.  I would say the use of money (either real or fiat) is necessary to live and survive in this world and there is nothing inherently evil associated with its use. However, the mindless, consistent, acquisition of wealth with no regards to the people it is destroying or the devastation of the country in which one is a citizen is evil.

1 Timothy 6:10 KJV  For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Scripture specifically states “the love of money is the root of all evil” particularly if it is “coveted after”.  Other translations include:  stretching toward it; lusting after (or for); reaching for it; eager for; and craving for.  It would be the unbridled desire for wealth when it wouldn’t be needed if one were to live 200 years, much less 60 to 90 years.  The desire of coveting money caused them to err or fall from the Gospel teaching and resulted in many sorrows and unhappiness.

How the above observations relate to the gold intake of Solomon is not clear.  Perhaps gold can be considered real money and fiat money is merely digits on a computer in the modern world.  It has been rumored that China intends to convert to gold-backed money as Abraham Lincoln and John Kennedy attempted to do but were assassinated.  Although doubtful but possible, it could be that Solomon was acquiring too much wealth particularly after the temple was finished and there was no need for vast amounts of gold.

In a real or symbolic manner the banker whores, the unscrupulous corporate billionaires, and the money hucksters will soon suffer and they will not repent.  To my knowledge, these groups have yet to suffer so I consider this prophesied pain of some type, a future historical event.

Revelation 16:2 KJV  And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.

Revelation 16:10-11 KJV  (10)  And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,  (11)  And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deed.
