JUDGMENT VS JUSTICE
Post Date: 8-20-2019
This article will discuss events happening in Luke 13
but the background is found in Luke 12.
Jesus was about to speak to an extremely large group of people. There were so many and so crowded that
scripture claims they were trampling on one another.
Luke
12:1 NET Meanwhile, when many thousands of the crowd had
gathered so that they were trampling on one another…..
After
telling various parables and other words of enlightenment a few at the front of
the massive crowd asked Jesus some questions concerning personal judgment and
justice. The first question concerned a
group of Galilean people bringing their sacrificial animals to the temple area
and were slaughtered by Pilate’s soldiers.
The assault was unexpected and so brutal that both people and animals
were killed together and the blood of both groups (people and animals) were
mixed together.
The
basic background idea was that these people who questioned Jesus had seen a
group of so-called innocent moral upright religious people slaughtered in a
horrible manner and they were doing what they were supposed to be doing at that
particular time. In the minds of the
witnesses, there was no indication of any moral reason for them to be
unexpectedly massacred.
Luke
13:1 NET Now there were some present on that occasion who told
him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.
The
second question the people asked Jesus concerned the tower at Siloam, built by
the Romans, that fell crushing 18 people.
The crowd was wondering why these unsuspecting people going about their
daily lives were crushed to death. They
did nothing wrong deserving of death. They
asked Jesus, “can you comment on that?
Can you explain the massacres, calamities, and disasters that you know
happened?”
The
thought process of the current religious leaders claimed that tragedies
occurred to unrighteous sinful people and not to upright people and teachers of
the law. This thought had been relayed
to the common people and they couldn’t understand why these particular people
preparing to offer a sacrifice or going about their normal daily life would be
among the unrighteous sinful deserving of death. Where is the justice?
As
people would perhaps do today, Jesus could have answered with, “well, you know,
stuff happens” or “even Satan gets a turn every once in a while”. Unlike many of us attempting to explain these
occurrence, Jesus does not explain the “why”, rather He explains what the
purposes of God are in such disasters, calamities, and massacres.
Jesus
refutes the argument of the religious leaders that only unrighteous sinners are
punished with calamities. He explains
that all are sinners. One group of
people are not more sinful than another.
These events could happen to anyone at anytime.
Luke
13:2 NET He answered them, "Do you think these Galileans
were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered these
things?
Concerning
the Siloam tower that collapsed killing 18 people he says:
Luke
13:4 NET Or those eighteen who were killed when the tower in
Siloam fell on them, do you think they were worse offenders than all the others
who live in Jerusalem?
Then He gives the people the same warning for
both calamities.
Luke
13:3 NET No, I tell you! But unless you repent, you will all
perish as well!
Luke
13:5 NET No, I tell
you! But unless you repent you will all perish as well!"
This
could be misunderstood to mean that they would perish by the same means as the
Galileans or the people at Siloam. The
truth is, everyone will perish or die expect for a select few called the
elect/overcomers at the return of Jesus Christ.
However Jesus is recorded as saying, “unless you repent, you will all
perish as well”.
The
majority of my versions and translations use the word “perish”. One says “die” and one other says “destruct”.
Although
it does not specifically claim that the unrepentant will die and go to hell, it
has led many to believe that is the case.
First of all, it is my doctrinal belief and opinion that a fiery hell
does not exist. This (to me) fact has
been covered in several past articles.
So exactly what does Jesus mean by “unless you repent you will all
perish as well!"
The Second Resurrection
As
said earlier, almost everyone dies/perish/etc.
Either by a biological natural death or by an accidental death or by
some type of calamity.
Is it possible that some or
many die twice? Metaphorically speaking,
this may be true.
At
the return of Christ and during the Millennial Kingdom of God, those alive at
that time will continue living and have children who will continue living until
the end of the thousand years. The many,
from the beginning of creation, who will not experience the first resurrection
will experience the second resurrection.
At
the White Throne Judgment (see Revelation
20:11-12) the repentant, Christ believing folks will experience little to
no corrective punishment (see Matthew
25:34). However, the unrepentant,
the atheists, deists, Islamists, etc. will be subject to some or an extreme
amount of corrective punishment which is referred to as fire or the fire of God
(see Matthew 25:41).
Matthew
25:31-33 NET "When the Son of Man comes in his glory and all
the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. (32) All the
nations will be assembled before him, and he will separate people one from
another like a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. (33) He will put
the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. (34) Then the king will say
to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the
kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world
Matthew
25:41 NET (41) "Then he will say to those on his left,
'Depart from me, you accursed, into the eternal (actually age abiding, not
forever) fire (God’s cleansing and corrective fire)
that has been prepared for the devil and his angels!
It
has been suggested by some (outside of any actual Biblical proof) that
murderers killing people by such means as (guns, knives, actual fire, hangings,
poisons, etc.) may undergo a death similar to the ones they instituted. Thus they would undergo a second death
although they would again be resurrected.
For some, it is said, this may repeatedly occur for an “age abiding”. This could be a form of “the punishment fits
the crime”. Please understand I am not
promoting this idea as doctrine because it is beyond my purview (to quote
William Mueller).
To
most, however, the laws of punishment for crimes (i.e. the laws of God) will be
applied. Some may be short term and
others may continue for an “age abiding”.
This may include various types of slavery, bondage, or servitude to a
glorified first resurrection person where they will be instructed to thoroughly
understand the ways and laws of God.
The Fire Of God
The
fire of God that appears in many scriptures (Old and New) is not a type of
carbon based combustion. God is a spirit
and His fiery presence is spiritual as well.
The fire of God is a cleansing and corrective agent such as burning the
chaff from the grain or refining residue from various types of metals.
Some examples
of the Fire of God
Exodus
3:2 KJV And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in
a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the
bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. (And
Moses did not have a heat stroke) (It
was the spiritual appearance of fire and not an organic carbon based fire)
Exodus
13:21 KJV And the LORD went before them by day in a
pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire (and no
one got overheated), to give them light; to go by day and night:
Zechariah
13:9 NET Then I will
bring the remaining third into the fire; (i.e. or corrective discipline) I will refine them like silver is refined and
will test them like gold is tested. They will call on my name and I will
answer; I will say, 'These are my people,' and they will say, 'The LORD is my
God.' "
Malachi
3:2-3 NET Who can endure the day of his coming? Who can keep
standing when he appears? For he will be
like a refiner's fire, like a launderer's soap. (3) He will act like a
refiner and purifier of silver and will cleanse the Levites and refine them
like gold and silver. Then they will offer the LORD a proper offering.
Matthew
3:11 NET "I baptize you with water, for repentance, but
the one coming after me is more powerful than I am -- I am not worthy to carry
his sandals. He will baptize you with
the Holy Spirit and fire (fire and
the Holy Spirit are the same).
Universal
Reconciliation
Yes,
I am a doctrinal believer of Universal Reconciliation. Everything was created by God. He owns all things and He will reconcile all
things to Himself.
1 Corinthians 15:22-23a
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. 23 But each one in his own order…
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. 23 But each one in his own order…
Perish
is just a different translation for "dying" "die."
Death
always ends in resurrection, each in his
own order.
For
1Timothy 2:3-6, given below, the preferred translation is the KJV which reads,
“Who will have all men to be saved”.
1 Timothy 2:3-6 KJV
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
(4) Who will have all men to
be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. (5) For
there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
(6) Who gave himself a
ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
The word “all” means “all”. It does not imply some or just the
repentant. At the White Throne Judgment
some may appear kicking and screaming but all will eventually bow their knees
to God and not through force but through obedience and desire.

Keep in mind that the depraved minds of modern
Babylonians reject biblical morals and any form of Kingdom law or government.
They do not feel constrained nor do they think they are accountable to God in
any way. Violence is wrong only if others do it to them. They demand freedom of
speech for themselves but deny it for their opponents. They are a miserable lot
but are slaves to sin and don’t know how to find true peace and happiness in
Christ.
Continue to pray for the outpouring of the Holy
Spirit, because this is the only real hope for the world. Keep in mind that God
knew all about this from the beginning. He knew how Adam’s sin would grow until
it filled the earth with madness. When He transferred the Dominion Mandate to
the King of Babylon, which was then passed down to Persia, Greece, Rome, the
Little Horn, and finally, modern Mystery Babylon, He knew that the darkness
would increase.
God planned for the solution to be brought to the
earth after their Mandate expired in 2017. We are privileged to live in this
time as the Kingdom begins to emerge and unfold. But meanwhile, the old beast
systems have to expose themselves for what they are, and they have to be
overthrown.
This takes time. We are not yet two years into it
(since October 2017). Yet the darkness is being exposed for what it is, in
order to prepare our hearts for the greatest move of the Spirit since the dawn
of history.
